Getting Started Manually¶
This page sets the workspace up by hand. If you'd rather have Claude do it and build you a dashboard in the same pass, start with Getting Started With Agents instead.
Prerequisites¶
- Python 3.12+
- uv, the Python package manager
- Your IndieBI credentials: a User ID that looks like
u-xxxxxxxand a SAS token that starts withsp=rl&st=. Generate both in the IndieBI Partner Hub; see Getting Your Credentials.
Download¶
Download dda-sdk-workspace.zip and unzip it into an empty folder. The archive has no top-level folder, so its contents land directly in whichever folder you unzip it into.
Setup¶
Install the dependencies from the workspace root:
This pulls in everything the SDK needs. You run it once now, and again after any SDK update.
Configuration¶
Copy .env.example to .env and fill in your credentials:
The SAS token is scoped to your user and grants read-only access to your own
data. .env is listed in .gitignore, stays on your machine, and is never
touched by SDK updates.
Check that it worked:
That opens a local SQL editor at http://localhost:4213 with every table you
have access to already registered. Press Enter in the terminal to stop it.
Next Steps¶
- Getting Started With Agents to have Claude generate charts and analysis from your data, no code required
- Querying Data to connect from Python and build your own pipelines
- Tables & Schema Reference for every available table and its columns
